Expanding Medicaid & VA Planning with Addition of Michael Fields

Michael Fields joined the firm as an associate attorney in June of 2026 where he is part of the estate planning group, with a particular focus on Medicaid planning and VA benefits planning.

He helps clients protect their assets and qualify for the long-term care benefits they need while navigating these often complex and ever-changing rules. Michael’s addition allows our firm to expand our services for clients and families facing long-term care decisions, including asset protection strategies, Medicaid eligibility planning, and VA Aid & Attendance benefits for veterans and their surviving spouses.

He brings his experience in probate and Medicaid matters to the firm from his role as a paralegal at the Kentucky estate planning Law Center; he also served as a legal intern for the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy.

A resident of Elizabethtown, Michael is admitted to practice law in Kentucky. He is a recent graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, cum laude, and he received his undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University, magna cum laude..

Outside of work, Michael enjoys staying active and being outdoors. He is an avid baseball fan and enjoys sports of all kinds, whether watching a game or joining a pick-up game. He also loves going to the movies, traveling to new places, and spending time with friends and family. Most of all, he cherishes time with his wife and two young daughters.
